Molly Harrower was an amazing psychologist and researcher. I met her at a professional meeting in the late 1980s. She was cordial and open to answering a couple questions. I had no idea of her notoriety. Only after the book on the Nazi rorschach was published in the 1990s which she coauthored did I know. . Thank you for this wonderful talk!

Oops . . Speaking as an Ojibwe 2-spirit person I would like to clarify that we (persons) are not considered animate + inanimate. Our language Anishinaabemowin treats nouns differently and switches verb forms if something is considered animate or inanimate. An example would be that a rock is animate as s/he has a spirit, however a table is an inanimate noun. People and all beings are always animate. In all other respects, this is a very good lecture. Consistent with historic and contemporary knowledge found in our communities if we have the interest and understanding to seek it out.

unfortunately he also pushed the boys towards this behaviour and only chose the run of the study where his hypthesis got confirmed. that is not up to todays scientific standards

Important to note the film is set in 1963, not 1975 when it was filmed. Some commentators missed this point repeatedly.

What a beautiful post. I also got weepy at the end. I have been a fan of Leta since since first discovering her in 2007 after I discovered, at the age of 53, that I was probably highly gifted, but had never been identified. Despite being gone for 85 years she has been a continual source of support for me. I'm very happy to learn more about her husband Harry and their very special relationship. Two extremely special people...

I knew Muzafer Sherif personally in the later years of his life. He explained these concepts to me, and I have utilized his methods in successfully navigating and resolving group conflict. The world is currently at a precipice where these concepts, specifically, Superordinate Goals, may apply and literally avert WW3/nuclear annihilation. Anyone out there make this connection? This may be Muzafer's gift to humanity.

The “researchers” lied to the parents, then scammed them out of the equivalent of $250 for the privilege of exploiting their children as human Guinea pigs. Then they scammed the kids out of their own pocket money to watch a movie. All the while burning through grant money to conduct an unethical experiment on minors
